Christians worship because….
they want to! This makes sense, for after all, they understand what God has done for them in Christ and they desire to say, “Thank you!” It’s a spiritual or “inside” thing. It is also an external worship thing. Christians believe that who Jesus is and what he did on the cross is such a big deal, they want to direct their time, talents, energy and money in ways that show their thankfulness. Essentially, Christians worship to give, not to get. While not perfect, they are thankful. They desire to express this in all of life. A thankful spirit before God also spills over into the rest of the week. Family and friends notice. This spirit comes from the Spirit of Christ who lives in those who have come to him in faith and repentance. So, they gladly worship!

SOMETHING DEEPER
In the New Testament the apostle Paul wrote a letter to a group of Christians in the city of Ephesus. The letter is called “Ephesians.” The very first chapter of this letter talks about the multiple benefits Christians have received from God the Father through his Son Jesus Christ. Dr. D. A. Carson outlines one reason after another to worship the triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Listen to this challenging conference message as he digs deep into the pages of this timeless letter: On Worshipping God
